Element Studios was founded by Camilla Leech, an architect who studied in Oxford and Washington D.C. before working for a number of practices in Oxford. She specialised in restoration (gaining a post-graduate diploma in Built Resource Studies and one in Interior Design), and successfully delivered numerous schemes for colleges, schools and houses that can be seen throughout Oxford.
Having taken time out to have children Camilla decided to refresh her skills and focus on her real passion for interior design by completing a diploma at the KLC School of Design in London. As founder of Element Studios, together with her multi-disciplinary team, she brings her philosophy to life. This means creating environments where humans feel comfortable, and buildings that make sense for the people who live in and use them. She takes a holistic approach to the design process, from using thoughtfully resourced materials to supporting local trades and suppliers.
Element Studios is a full member of the British Institute of Interior Design.
Element Studios has a team of highly skilled architects and interior designers, each of whom Camilla has worked with individually and trusts. We pride ourselves on delivering results that look, flow and feel exactly as our clients imagined.
Through intelligent discussion and attention to detail, we create contemporary bespoke designs, individually tailored to each clients’ taste and specific requirements.
Where possible, we try to bring in small, up-and-coming British designers, and to use local boutiques and suppliers to support the immediate community. Camilla’s philosophy is to nurture relationships with unique creatives and carry on building a body of loyal suppliers and makers.
The flexible way we work allows us to guide clients through the sometimes bewildering processes involved in a building project. Our experience helps make it simple for you to achieve a beautiful environment and fulfil your desired objectives. No two clients’ requirements are the same, so all our services are bespoke and designed for your particular needs.
Our ethos is to create an eclectic design mix, encouraging clients to re-use and refurbish existing accessories alongside new, contemporary and vintage pieces. We use all kinds of pre-owned possessions as inspiration, which helps to keep costs down and preserve the environment: this encourages clients to aim for healthy surroundings using natural products and materials, including plants and natural lighting. It also means that the result is uniquely personal.
